Listed instructions assume you have already obtained a copy of Windows 8, "burned" the file to a DVD, and obtained a valid Windows 8 product key
- Insert the Windows 8 DVD into your DVD drive or the USB drive containing the windows file and restart your computer.
- Look for this instruction, "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD".
- Press the space key/button.
- A new window asking you to select your language of preference, Choose "English United Kingdom" and proceed.
- Click on "Install now"
- "Setup is starting" will be displayed.
- Enter the product key
- Microsoft software licence terms will be displayed, click on the "I accept the terms button" then proceed to "Next".
- A message prompting you on which type of installation you want will be displayed, click on "Custom (enhanced)" option.
- Selection of where you want to install windows will appear, select the partition that best suits you and proceed.
- After a series of checks it will restart, and a message will be displayed, "Getting devices ready"
- Windows 8 does not function properly below a resolution of 1280*768, you may experience a series of black screens if you have lower resolution
- You proceed to choose which color for windows you would like.
- Customized settings page is up next where you "select automaticaly install important recommended updates"
- You can turn on other settings like, smartscreen filter to check files and apps with Microsoft, turn on internet explorer smartscreen filter to check urls and downloads with microsoft, send a do not track requests to websites you visit in Internet explorer
- Sign in to your PC using your windows live or hotmail account
- Finalize your settings
- Windows will get things ready for you, this may take a few minutes
