Important Apps to install on a brand new PC

This article will give us the most essential apps that work great and enhance your productivity by miles while also ensuring your system is safe and secure

1. A new web browser- as much as the PC comes with readily available Microsoft Edge browser, there is need to install an extra web browser perhaps google Chrome, Opera Mini, Brave , UC browser, Mozilla Firefox or any other browser in the market, there are several free web browsers available.

2. Photos viewer app- even fter the Microsoft Photos improvement, it's not the best photo viewing app for your PC, our recommendation for a photos viewing app is Image Glass, it is an open source image viewer that comes in a simple, neat and easy to use interface, it supports 70 diferent photo formats which includes GIF, SVG, heic and even raw images, its super lightweight and does not take a toll on your system resources and it displayes all your image information neatly in the tittle bar. It also comes with a customized UI which you can easily customize with different themes as well.

3. Photos editor app- there are times in which you need to edit your photos whether is basic or advanced editing our recommendation in this case is Photoscape X , it comes with basic editing features and then you get over 1000 filters, effects and handy editing tools so basically it has checked off when it comes to beautifying images or transforming the entire look of photos instantly.

4. Video player- A good video player for your PC whether its for watching a random movie or just a random video that you downloaded from the internet our go-to recommendation is VLC media player, and for an even better experience in windows 10 and above we recommend K-Lite Codec Pack Mega (Media Player Classic)  this media player is quite old school but its a classic since it can play all media format, comes with support of HDR and 3D videos as well and its super lightweight on your system resources.

5. Download manager- While IDM remains the best downoad manager out there it is of course a paid software, a better resourceful app would be the Free download manager, as the name suggests its completely free but it comes with alot of added features too FDM comes with download acceleration, download resumption and many more features additionally it also doubles up as a big torrent client so you can add magnet links and torrent files. It might not have the best UI but it performs really well.

6. Files compresser/decompresser- We all work with compressed file formats be it ZIP, RAR or whatever compressed file versions out there, we recommend two compresser/decompresser apps one being WINRAR, and 7 ZIP both are completely free and supports all compression formats and you can also use to create your own archives as well and the compression ratio is really great too.

7. Office Suite- A lot of PC users needs Microsoft Office however this suite is paid for alternatevely you can aquire Free Office, the suite itself is fully compatible with  all microsoft word, excel and powerpoint formats, this means you can not anly view but save file formats such as docx, xlsx and ppdx it also supports older file types such as PPT and XLX. Now one interesting option that you get there is you can customize whether you want a ribbon menu or a classic toolbar so not only does it suite everyones taste but also makes a migration process who are using outdated versions of Microsoft Office a lot easier.

8. Screen record software- we already have a pre-installed screen recorder option of Microsoft Xbox game bar but it is limited in that it can't record your file explorer or your desktop, a better alternative is ShareX, shareX is an open screen recording tool for your PC that is super easy to use, to enable screen recording on shareX you are required to download a module but once that is done you get to record without any interruptions whatsoever, you can even use it for GIF recording as well as adding image effects and also cutomizing the region capture and so much more.

9. Password Manger- we all have multiple online accounts be it for different browsers, different websites or even social media apps but instead of remembering all the passwords  a better option would be to use a dedicated password manager and our recommendation for that would be Bitwarden, bitwarden is a free open source password manager  with a generous free plan which gives unlimited password storage and covers a number of devices, it offers an autofill and password recoil features very well.

10. Virus protection software- We all trust Microsoft defender for our device protection against viruses and threats directed to your devices, however as a more smarter user we recommend a free antivirus protection app is Avira free antivirus, it offers a ton of features with a great anti-malware setup that not only detects all the malicious files on your system but it does so without slowing your PC down and provides a full PC scan and advanced internet security.

Conclusion

Please note that all the above recommendations are our personal opinions and are open to any objections depending on your expert opinions, you can feel free to explore other softwares out there but the above are the best options depending on our opinions and experiences.
